Amid global challenges such as new tariffs and the US-China trade war, Indonesian exporters have the opportunity to expand their markets through strategic partnerships such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), BRICS, and other trade strategies.
"The potential trade value of palm oil and its derivatives in BRICS and TPP countries reaches US$9.8 million. Sardines have a potential value of US$23 million, sugar commodities reach US$5.4 million, and household products such as shampoo reach US$32.9 million," he said.

Leads Management Chief Specialist of Indonesia Eximbank, Rini Satriani in a press release quoted Saturday (3/5/2025).
Furthermore, Rini stated that market diversification is a strategic step that needs to be taken to expand export access, one of which is by utilizing economic cooperation such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), BRICS, and various opportunities from other strategic trading partner countries.
Approximately 10% of Indonesia's exports to the United States will be directly exposed to the US's reciprocal tariff policy. Meanwhile, the indirect impact will be felt through heightened rivalry resulting from the shifting of exports and supply chains from China to other countries, including Indonesia.
Indonesian exports showed positive growth amidst the global challenges faced. Cumulatively, national exports grew by 6.9% from January to March 2025. This growth was supported by key commodities such as crude palm oil (CPO), iron and steel, and electrical machinery and equipment.
Indonesian exporters have successfully marketed their products to 192 countries worldwide, with 65.8% of total exports concentrated in 10 countries. "China and the United States are our largest trading partners, contributing 33.9% of total exports," Rini concluded.
